You’re Despicable (But You’re Mine)

Valentine’s Day always sneaks up on me, and instead of going big or overthinking it, I ended up making this little Daffy Duck doodle. He’s dramatic, a little annoyed, and somehow still affectionate — which honestly feels very on brand for Valentine’s energy. Not every kind of love is perfectly polished or sweet all the time. Some of it’s loud, sarcastic, messy, and still very real. I liked leaning into that contrast here. The bold reds and pinks set the mood, but Daffy’s expression says exactly what he’s thinking. It’s not a grand speech — just a blunt, cartoon-honest reminder that love doesn’t always sound poetic… sometimes it just sounds like Daffy Duck yelling how he feels. This drawing is my way of warming up for Valentine’s Day — playful, imperfect, and meant to make you smile.
